All manned combat vehicles
All manned USA combat vehicles can be upgraded with a single unmanned drone to boost that vehicle's capabilities. These drones are all affected by the Drone Armor upgrade.
Scout Drone
Scout Drones increase the effective sight range of the vehicle, and reveal any stealthed units nearby.
|
Battle Drone
Battle Drones protect the vehicle by repairing it when necessary. In addition, they have a light machine gun that can help defend the vehicle against infantry. Townes' Battle Drones can be upgraded to have a point defence laser to destroy small missiles, with the Battle Drone Point Defence Laser upgrade.
|
Hellfire Drone
Hellfire Drones provide additional battle capabilities for their parent vehicle. They are equipped with missiles, which can do moderate damage to both infantry and vehicles. Townes uses a newer version, which is capable of laser-locking on targets, increasing its fire rate.
|
Dozer
The Dozer is responsible for constructing all of Townes' structures, as well as keeping them properly repaired.
Clear MinesOrders the unit to clear mines and booby traps within the assigned area. |
Laser Tank
The Laser Tank is the main battle tank of General Townes' ground forces. The laser turret of this tank fires powerful laser bursts which are effective against enemy armour and buildings. The laser is slightly more powerful than the default Crusader cannon, and can be enhanced with Focusing Crystals for more range and firepower, though it lacks the Composite Armour upgrade.
|
Humvee
The Humvee is a fast transport vehicle. It can transport five soldiers which can fire through the vehicle's fireports. By default, it is armed with a light machine gun that is only effective against infantry. Instead of a TOW missile, Townes' Humvees can be upgraded with a laser cannon (with the Humvee Laser upgrade) that is effective against ground and air targets. It also has rather weak armor, but makes up for that with speed.
|
Ambulance
If your soldiers are wounded in battle, this vehicle will help them. It heals soldiers and repairs vehicles in the near vicinity and acts as a transport for 3 infantry.
Clean ToxinsOrders the Ambulance to clean up radiation and toxins in the selected area. |
Laser Paladin
This high-tech tank is General Townes' heavy tank. It is armed with an advanced, heavy laser cannon which fires a constant laser beam with pinpoint accuracy onto its target and does heavy damage over time. The laser does need some time to charge to its full potential, so the Laser Paladin is less useful for short encounters. The damage output can be increased with the Focusing Crystals upgrade. To protect itself from incoming missiles, the Laser Paladin has a point defence laser installed on it, which can destroy small incoming missiles.
|
Sentry Drone
A drone fitted with highly modern sensor and camera equipment. It is able to detect stealthed unit around it, and can scan for stealthed units in a small area further away too. It is stealthed itself when not moving. By default, it is not capable of engaging enemy units, but the Sentry Drone Laser Gun upgrade fits this unit with a small laser gun which makes it effective against infantry. The Drone Armor upgrade makes this unit tougher to kill.
Scan area for enemiesOrders the unit to scan the target area for stealthed enemies. |
Laser Avenger
General Townes took mobile anti-air to the next technological level with this vehicle. Unlike the standard Avenger, this version uses laser cannons instead of missile batteries, which fry any aircraft unlucky to be in range with pinpoint accuracy. It has a laser designator which can mark enemy ground units and increase the rate of fire for friendly units firing on the "painted" target, and two heavy point defense lasers which protects it against missiles, including large ballistic missiles. All of these weapon systems slow down the Avenger considerably compared to the base humvee.
|
Advanced Microwave Tank
As the name suggests, this tank is armed with a powerful microwave emitter. It creates a large microwave field around itself which fries infantry in seconds. Additionally it uses its dish to focus the emitter into projecting a microwave beam which shuts down targeted buildings and clears garrisoned buildings almost instantly. The downside is that the building only remains without power as long as the Microwave Tank keeps firing at it. While firing the beam, the tank loses its microwave field, so this unit should never be sent out alone and only used as a support vehicle. General Townes put some more research into microwave emmiters and was capable of boosting its power output by 150% giving his Microwave Tanks' beam a longer range.

Railgun Artillery
Putting a lot of research into a more effective mobile artillery platform, General Townes' scientists have made a big breakthrough in railgun technology. The Railgun Artillery is a powerful Railgun installed on a tank chassis. This weapon has a very long range and the metal slugs it fires travel at many times the speed of sound, allowing for an 100% hit rate. Once targeted by the Railgun Artillery, there is little that the target can do besides being obliterated. The Railgun's projectile is hardened for multiple impacts and will damage anything standing in the way of the target. The only weaknesses the Railgun Artillery possess are the inability to fire over elevated terrain and requires direct Line of Sight of the target to be able to fire.
Ground AttackOrders the unit to fire its weapon on the targeted area. Every artillery piece in ShockWave has this ability. |
